Clear the way for the build, and keep the trees worth keeping

Our ISA Certified Arborist works with contractors before the machines arrive: root pruning, tree protection plans, and treatments before and after construction.

The tree plan comes before the footing

Most construction damage to a tree happens out of sight, in the roots. Trenching, a change of grade, a pile of fill or a loaded truck parked over the root zone can hurt a tree that shows nothing for months. Planning the protection before the first machine arrives is what keeps a good tree on the lot.

Our ISA Certified Arborist walks the site with the contractor and sorts the trees: which ones stay, which ones are in the way, and which ones were already compromised. The tree protection plan comes out of that walk.

Root pruning that cuts clean on purpose

When a trench or a footing has to pass through a root zone, a planned, clean cut does far less harm than a backhoe tearing through roots. Specialized root pruning severs roots along a set line ahead of the digging, so the tree is not left with ragged wounds and a loosened root plate.

It is a trade, and an honest plan says so. The closer the work gets to the trunk, the more the tree is asked to give up, and some trees should not be asked at all. The protection plan marks the line the crews stay behind.

Treatments before the build and after it

Pre-construction treatments prepare a tree for the stress ahead, and post-construction treatments help it recover from the stress it took. Both aim at healthy growth once the machines leave, which is also what protects the value of the property.

Where an ordinance applies, the plan keeps the job inside city or county tree rules. And when a tree has to come out for access, removal and stump grinding are work we already do.
